I found a bottle of Johnny Walker Double Black in the cupboard about a week ago. I have to preface this with, I have no idea where the bottle came from or how I have come to be in possession of it. Now back to the point, I thought it was garbage. I got the smoke, which was nice, but the liquid itself tasted like turpentine. It was bad to the point that I just dumped it after two sips. Is that actually what it is supposed to taste like?

If you thinl the Black is bad you should try their Red...

Doesn't get drinkable until the Gold or Green Label and then gets seriously overrated on the Platinum and Blue.

I drink single malts, not blends.:suds:

IC Light to numb the pain.

Ugh. Just ugh. But I'll enjoy watching the heathen Ravens get their asses handed to them next weekend.

This is one of those beers most people would never even see unless you know to ask for it and are very lucky to be in the PNW and know when the 1 case is behind the counter at your favorite bottle shop. It's a 13% Cognac barrel aged Barleywine from Anchroage Brewing in Alaska, which has a lot of pedigree.

Sadly though, this year's version is not even close to as good as the previous years have been. No Cognac presence at all, which is what made this beer special. Dropped over $50 to get this shipped in. Pretty bummed. Still drinking it solo though.

Victory Red Thunder. Their baltic porter aged in wine barrels. Very interesting.

Just finished a glass of Old Weller Antique that was paired with my Dark Horse Plead the 5th Imperial Stout.

Good stuff all around.

Blue Moon Cinnamon Horchata Ale, not bad for Blue Moon. I would say it is probably their second best offering behind Mountain Abbey Ale.
