Forgot that I watched Star Trek 1 and 2 a few weeks ago. They were better than I remembered, and I even had good memories of 1 because I thought the Vger plotline was pretty cool as a kid. 1 didn't have much action and I think it was reviled for that at the time, but I enjoyed most of it a lot...thought the abrupt ending was really odd, though, they just took off for a test drive after the momentous event that had just occurred?
2 is much more of an action flick and was fun, although Ricardo Montalban, like Thumper, should have covered his chest up more.
7/10 for both.

The first was terrible. The fact that they stole the plot for first Star Trek movie ever from the TV show was unforgivable. Loved the Wrath of Khan.

My favorite of the Trek movies is First Contact. The whole pre-Federation story was just great.

Not very good. Some laughs, but the characteristics that were funny in the first, were obnoxious and forced in the second.

Point Break. I love that movie.

Lori Petty never looked better.

Good action and the surfing and sky diving bits are interesting to say the least.

Watched Taxi Driver yet again last night and this afternoon. Was all hopped up after using the treadmill last night and thought I would make it through the whole thing easily, then just absolutely crashed an hour into it. Fantastic flick, great performances by DeNiro, Keitel, and Foster. Even Peter Boyle was pretty good, thought Shepherd and Brooks were maybe in a bit over their heads.
Didja know that the dismissive candy counter girl in the porno theater was DeNiro's first wife? I think most people know that Scorsese was the nut in the cab watching his wife in another guy's apartment.

Got both in one box and watched the first.
That actually sounds pretty damned funny...I have some hope now that we'll like the second one better.

Started watching "Dawg Fights" last night, but only got about 20 minutes into it at best...definitely want to finish it, got me hooked. Huge black dude who grew up with Kimbo Slice and used to be a bodyguard for him running no holds barred backyard fights in his S Florida shithole hometown.

Also finished Dawg Fights on Friday night and found it worth watching. Maybe you could call a crude "Hoop Dreams" of MMA/boxing. Buncha guys with nothing taking a chance on getting really fucked up in a backyard bout for a few bucks and maybe a shot at getting noticed...guess a couple of them got somewhere from it.

Chris Pine was great. The two friends (especially Dale, Charlie Day's character) to Bateman's character were just downright ANNOYING this time around. I so wanted to jump through the screen with Dale and be like, "SHUT THE **** UP!" like when they are breaking into the house and they're being so loud... c'mon, that's just stupid.

so much this....literally was getting on my nerves.

Chris Pine was pretty good in it tho, particularly as he was not my favorite actor going in to it.

Unbroken

Very good movie. I watched it with my dad, and he was able to follow it and enjoyed it a lot as well. He has Alzheimer's, so anytime I can get him entertained, I don't care what it is, I enjoy the activity, so that alone makes this a huge plus movie in my eyes.

That side shit aside, it was a powerful flick. The only real critique I have is involving the flashbacks. The way they used them at the beginning was fine (quick break-aways) worked, but they should have continued with that format throughout. It felt like they changed story tellers mid-way through. I believe they were trying to rush the release of the movie in hopes that Zamparini would be able to see the release (which he missed, unfortunately), so maybe that explains that story-telling inconsistency.

8/10

I talked about seeing it this weekend with the fiancée. Really that bad eh? Guess I'll just go see Entourage. Loved the show.

"You cant have the golden tux"

"Why not? You even have a name for it?"

"Theres a name for a horse with a horn on its head, its called a unicorn, dont mean I can get you one."
