her 2nd serve has always had a weird jerking motion to it, but it was still effective up until about 5 years ago.

the motion is even worse now, and her toss and contact points are extremely inconsistent. she doesn't get the velocity she used to get on it, either, and the same is true to a lesser extent even with her 1st serve.

tomorrow isn't about tennis at all, really, though. more about nerves.

OT: What did you think of Dementieva's serves?

Just wondering because I wasn't on this board (or ESPN's) when Dementieva was good. And her serve was a talking point.

So wondering what you and others thought.

if dementieva had a serve, she would've won at least 1 major

it was painful to watch her serve

toss all over the place, no legs involved in the serve, yeesh. grotesque.

everything else in her game was +

You never know whether you will get Richard Gaquet or Ricky (Blown a ) Gasket. Looks like he is Gasquet today. Dude is immensely talented so its not a surprise fo him to beat anyone easily not named Djokervic.

You would be disgusted IMO! The top players still rule; vets as well! These kids just can't finish; even with a significant lead! Ivo bombed at the wrong time, Goffin let Stan off the hook, and Kygrios is someone you don't know will show up! I call today's pros "gutless" because they can't seem to finish an upset! The "Big 4" have ruled the MAJORS and Masters for years! Only Wawrinka's making a significant dent in the record book winning AO and FO recently! Looking forward to another Nole final if he can "make it!"

ESPN3 sure chose an unideal moment to go out there. It looks like Nole will win Set 3. Usually, I'd say that would push the momentum to him but I thought that in Set#2 when Nole broke Anderson right back. If Anderson can show the same mental fortitude he showed then, he can still win this match.

Outstanding tennis from the last Canuck standing.... And the previous match he was down 2-1 before winning out. Hope it doesn't impact his doubles match.

His serving has been stellar. Not 140 MPH but a positional 122.....

Not working at the moment, so 4 channels X 10 plus hours to get through.

Quite enjoying myself.

I agree the WTA has more moaners. Just thought a few on the ATP get underlooked. Nadal is also loud.

Fair enough point about Azarenka.

Ferrer is extremely off putting. Ain't no doubt about it.

But Screetcharenaka is the worst. Supposedly it's about powering through a shot, but if she misses the shot, she curtails her wail. If the shot goes in it the wail is almost endless.

Sharapova is annoying too and Schiavonne with her "Fuck Me"....

But it seemed like at the French Open the cries were quieter? Sharapova for sure was. Or was it the clay being poor audio background?
