Lewis looking strong in Hungary.

And as PFC 1st Class Gomer Pyle would say, "Surprise, surprise, surprise...."

Renault is in 2,3 splitting the MBs.....

That is completely nuts and crazy people are coming out of the shadows. People trying to tap into the assets of the estate I presume for personal gain.

"Overall long-term interests of the championship"? What a load of fertilizer this is. Get rid of Bernie Ecclestone permanently and the series will instantly improve.

Ferrari Kicks F1 Silly Season In The Nuts By Keeping Kimi Räikkönen For 2016

Kimi is staying at Ferrari for one more year. I think this will make Valteri Bottas the most sought after driver on the grid.

Would love to see him go to McLaren and help right that ship when Jenson leaves as he is rumored to be doing. He is supposedly going to be a presenter on the new Top Gear.

And then Nico Hulkenberg can go to Williams and start winning races :)

Perhaps the driver selections for the new Haas team may influence a lot of the silly season.

Haas is supposedly pushing hard for Hulkenberg though Gutierrez is also high on their list. They could start with these two but Rossi is the big prize for them so he would get a seat if he wanted one, I would think. I assume IRBR retains Kvyat and STR retains Sainz but who the hell knows with the Red Bull/Renault broken marriage. Force India (I assume) will try and retain Hulkenberg but it may be a bidding war.

2017 will be fun with Bottas, Ricciardo etc. as free agents and an open seat at Ferrari. However with the way today has gone, Bottas may buy his way out of the team option for 2016.

BTW, in reference to what WillBuxton said today, there is no chance that Mercedes will supply Red Bull (though wouldn't that be fun). I assume we will see a 1-2 year deal with Ferarri and VW/Audi will be in by 2018 (either under Audi or Lambo crest).

Good to have you 46 and 2. Is that ID any reference to Tool's song by the same name?

There has been a lot of speculation on another forum I go to that Audi is going to resurrect "Auto Union" in response to the Silver Arrows. Then they can brand the car any thing they want for different races.

Bentley at Silverstone
Porsche in Germany
Lambo in Italy
Seat in Spain
Bugatti in France or Spa, etc.

Audi or VW everywhere else.

Let's take a moment to remember the last time that flag flew in F1:

Yeah, and the whole Jung Philsophy attributed to it. I am actually an old timer here but usually only roll back for CFB season. I didn't know the Motorsport section was so active so I will be back much earlier from now on!

I am glad to have a place to talk open wheel stuff. At work now but will respond with a bit more on my racing fan history and rooting interests later this evening!

Short story:

F1 - I root for the Bulls but strongly disliked Vettel when he was there, ha ha, and also am a fan of Hulkenberg as a driver. I'm excited about the Haas team and potential U.S. drivers.

IndyCar - lifelong Dario fan and have sort of adopted Hinchtown since he retired, soft spot for Kanaan as well, hate Power, starting to hate Carpenter a bit. :D

Yea we are quite active here and have been since I have been on this site or nearly so. We have some voracious open-wheel racing fans and a quintessential motorhead such as myself. So, we love to have you join in our competitions.
