I agree outofyourmind. There are plenty of tuned catback stainless systems on the market that give one a nice rumble and don't sacrifice power and look very cool with custom end pieces if they are put on properly. The dead give away is those ridiculous low hanging junk pipes he has on this thing from (I am assuming) the headers back. Get a life dude. Damn Cale Yarborough wannabe.

460 Cobra jet is a damn truck engine. I get the distinct impression this dude in the vid is a backyard hack. I might be wrong but he sure likes the sound of his pipes.

I had the same thought. :pound:
Why would you drive something that loud unless you are in high school. Put some mufflers on that thing. I'd sacrifice some HP for that, it had plenty.:gaah:

Yeah, the 460 Mustang guy in the vid is weird.
I had a 460 in a '78 Lincoln Mark V I had in college. It's not very impressive except for being huge. I believe the engine was used un ambulances n sech for decades. 8 mpg for not much. I think the mechanic just wants to sell that anchor.

I guess the point is if I was going to fuck up the car with something that completely doesn't belong, I'd buy a low mile, 420hp coyote from a wrecked Mustang GT. Ford Racing has conversion kits so you don't even need to change the gauges...just drop it in with it's modern tranny after cutting the driveshaft to length.

So, anyway, if I was going to fuck the car up it would be with something modern, reliable and powerful.

I have driven straight trucks with that 460 in it Juice. It is a gas-guzzling badass engine and would be a "nice" addition to any Mustang you decide to squeeze it into. Sort of like shoe-horning a hemi into a Neon!

The last Muscle Car ever built. 1974 Pontiac GTO 455.
Never appreciated. Would run 14.7 second quarter miles out of the factory with a 3.42 rear end.
Handled better than any other muscle car before it.
Shame Pontiac didn't put the Super Duty in it, or it would have become a legend.

After reading some more, it seems that Chevy filed paperwork to maintain the trademark rights and created a little buzz. The prevailing opinion is that they won't be producing the Chevelle anytime soon. They also filed the same trademark stuff for the El Camino and the Nomad. Chevy said it was just routine procedure to protect the names.

This is my exact thought.
But I like it.

I don't dislike it, but it loses points for unoriginality. If they were to open up the top of the headlight bezels and lose the eyebrows it would look more like the Chevelle's of the early 70's that they obviously tried to emulate.

A modern day, hot rod version of the El Camino would be cool, as long as it doesn't look like a Challenger!
