A co-worker showed me the Hellcat and said he already put 20G down to get on the list of buyers waiting for it. Says it comes with 2 keys. Black for wife to drive halfway sane about town, and a red key for him go totally bonzai, full power.

Yea NativeWebfoot. It is one helluva a car. The complete car pictured has a base sticker of $60,000. I am trying to find a bank I can rob and get away with it to buy one of these things. And you are correct, there are two modes as you described and a waiting list already. Production is beginning for September/October delivery. What a car!!

This is what I mean by the new stuff JohnRandle. A 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Hemi. 707 supercharged HP right from the factory. Plunk down another $20,000 and send it over to Hennessey in California and he'll send it back to you with 1500 Hp.

I love my Challenger. ('14) I want a Hellcat now. Its an addiction.

I hear that loud and clear, Mondo. I hear there is a waiting list and if you want on the list, all you need is $20,000 with the remainder due at delivery. I wish, I wish!!

IDK on the total number. If the Hellcat is selling that quickly, Fiat-Chrysler would be stupid to make that decision. Double or triple that number and they still have a rare badass machine.

I admire all the muscle cars, but the one that turns my head the most and gives me that "I wish I had one" feeling, is the 67 Chevelle SS

I think the Challengers have the most appealling design of the retros. I liked that little T-bird that came out awhile back, but a bit too girly.

I agree about the Challenger, but they have some major sins for which to atone regarding the Charger and Dart.

I think Imaa' gonna put those same wheels on my '73. Those are the good ones...look just enough like the ugly originals (that I still have) to say you're sticking with that look.

Unfortunately, my mechanic knows an old Ford mechanic so brilliant he got the engine running perfectly for under 200 bucks. One piston was full of oil and I thought it would need a 1,000 dollar ring job. But the dude filled it up to the top with some kinda' solvent and let it sit for a couple days and that cleaned it all up after a decade of sitting.
But before that I was looking at rebuilt engines. That mechanic has two rebuilt 460s in his garage! But I can't justify it with the old 302 running fine...but it's tempting!

Speaking of muscle. Allan Johnson raced Jegs Coughlin in the Pro-Stock final of Denver's Mopar Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway this week-end. Johnson took the win in one of those badass Mopar Darts in an all-Mopar Final. The father of the original 426 Hemi was at the track to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that legendary engine and they interviewed him. Man does he have some really cool stories about the development of the 426 Hemi!!

This is one of my all time favorite cars. And I'm no Ford guy by any stretch of the imagination. Mustang guys don't seem to like it, but they mostly prefer the girly 1965 secretary models for some reason.
My mom bought a 1971 Pontiac Lemans brand new and I so wanted her to get this mustang.
429 Boss with the drag pak was one hell of a machine.

1969 Grand Prix 428HO 390hp was always a favorite of mine.
Just because of the huge "Sleeper" factor it had.

A buddy of mine in High School got this car brand new.
1977 Olds 442. Had a 350 engine.
Yeah, I know it wasn't "real" muscle, but it was a great car and looked cool.
