I stated when the trade was made before last season that I thought the Angels made a good pickup to shore up their starting rotation when they got Santiago. I sure hope Colby brings it tomorrow.

And I saw this blurb this morning from the DMN:

Ryan Rua has been the recent choice to hit second against lefties. He has hit second five times in the last 10 days. The Rangers are 1-4 in those games. Rua, 0 for 4 Saturday, is hitting .153 vs. lefties.

The other right-handed hitting option for the No. 2 spot: Elvis Andrus. He was 0 for 3 against lefties Saturday and is 8 for 43 (.186) against them since June 1.

Something tells me all our RH options are doing lousy period including Beltre.

He was not ready to come back and play. As soon as I read that he still had soreness there when he was called back up from AAA I thought he needs to relax until after the All Star break.

You may be 100% correct. But I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't exactly who/what he is from here on in.

IMO, if Hamilton can't keep himself fit enough for semi-regular duty in the second half, then it's time to cut him, at seasons end (if not before).

We could see this coming with Chi Chi and Wandy who has not pitched well for a couple of years was pitching way over his head has finally come down to earth. But there is no excuse for our offense to be this bad. It has to be in their head. I hope Colby stops the bleeding tonight. If anyone can it is him.

Normally I would agree with you but his cost is so low and his contributions could be much plus our options are nothing to shout about. I just think we need to quit trying to play him before he is ready. I think he can help us. I have been wrong before and I could be wrong again but at this price it is worth the risk to me.

I agree with what you're saying.

But here's my problem with Hamilton, he's shown to be totally unreliable over the past 2 seasons. Well, season and a half anyway. So regardless of the investment, he's not dependable.

I did say, " if Hamilton can't keep himself fit enough for semi-regular duty." So the second half of the season is key for me.

Could not agree more. He lives on excuses. Think back on all the crap he put out.

I may value dependability more than I should. But I do, none-the-less.

It's just a precarious situation for a team/mgr to know you've got one guy when you write his name on the line-up card, it's gotta be in pencil. And this will only get worse, IMO, not better as he ages.

Again, we've got the second half of 2015 to see what we have, or don't have, whichever the case may be.

I don't know the answer to this, does anyone know how many times Josh has been on the DL over the past 5 seasons? 3 seasons, etc?

Rua has hit a few homers but the kid is struggling bad, he needs to be playing everyday and deserves to be. Send him down and stop screwing him up by having him on the bench 4 days a week

I agree in that we need to see how things go with him in the 2nd half. That is where I was really trying to go with my response. At his price we just need to be sure before doing something drastic. We need the help.

Maybe he's the one outta here when DeShields is activated. I sure hope so. Let him go down and get regular playing time/AB.

Of course all this is subject to change if Hamilton is back on the mend again.

Not sure what is taking so long to call DeShields back up unless he was not legally able to be called up before now. And I think we need to put Hamilton back on the DL. Let him get healthy. Should have kept Beltre out too.

This team is not good at home, and as much as I like Colby, he pitches better in parks like Oakland. Hope they find a way to win today, but the pitching lately has me quite disappointed, though we all knew regression was coming. I just hoped when it came, that it wasn't quite this bad of a showing. That said the offensive is making it even uglier.
