Agree watching football on the west coast is best. Either drinks or breakfast for the first game, lunch with the second game, dinner with the late game, in bed by 10 pm

LOL...maybe there is no other place like it, and from my point of view thank goodness no other place is as screwed up as this place. I am here, strictly because my job, but will be leaving the day after my retirement, unless I can convince the company to move me first.

Plus, the job is more interesting.
It will be closer to my hometown, closer to the California Delta, Closer to the Sierras. Much cheaper to live.

SLO is nice

I'm up here in Clovis,CA.
Good Schools for my boys. Cost of living is pretty good. The outdoor things to do are many. And the weather is manageable all year long. No humidity No 24 hr mosquitoes. I can be in the San Diego area in 5 hours SLO in 2.

and football starts at 9 AM on Saturdays

I like NC for what I know, having visited Ashville and the Outer Banks.
California...San Fran to Lake Tahoe, San Andreas to Yosemite to Death Valley. Trona is the scariest place I've ever exposed myself too, Lynn included. Perfect place for a Rob Zombie movie.

Man, I'm jealous.

Summers in NE is what I stay alive for, but the winters are effed-up royal.
The west is just too far from everything I know and the south is populated by wackjobs. But the bones can't take the cold like they used to.

Well, I am almost checked out here in Okinawa. I get on a jet to California the 25th. I sold my cars, cleaned out my house, I'm checked into a hotel. I cried yesterday, thinking about leaving and the ties I have to Okinawa.
Today I am listening to blues and drinking California ales while I'm looking out the window at the sunset.
