True. It will be tough for their pitching to hold up over the season with the lack of quality starters as well as the age of those starters. Who knows though, a mid-season acquisition of say Cole Hamels or Johnny Cueto, both rumored to be available, might get them to the post season. Then who knows?

Wow! You don't see the Giants blow ninth inning leads very often. Crawford had the ganme-ending DP grpounder right in his hands and blew it. Maybe first place was too much for them. They haven't won since they held the NL West lead for 20 hours.

I don't usually get rattled over something like this since t is a long season. But this one really got to me especially when you anticipate a game ending double play. We have to get over this pretty quickly before it starts another funk.

Seriously, though. It was just an error. Bad error, granted, but just an error. We are only 1/3 of the way, and the Giants are still only a half game back.

Me too. Everytime I saw the score roll by on ESPN this morning I felt bad. It was so unexpected. This is the first time they've lost a game that they led in the 9th inning all season. And, as you said, it was such a routine game-ending play and coming after the Giants had made such a great 7th inning comeback. It is a long season though and these things happen.
