A measily 7.

While guys like Jordan/Kobe, PLUS 20 wins. Pretty telling in terms of the disparity of competition.

It tells me the east is weak as fuck and any team Lebron is on can blindfold themselves and make the finals.

Or are you saying series wins?

Because he has WAY more than 7 games won vs 50 win teams. Sorry if I misunderstood you there

To be fair, how many 50 win teams has he had a chance to beat playing in the east? The west has been pretty much head and shoulders above the east for Lebrons entire career and even before.

There have been years in the west where a 50-32 record wasn't good enough to get into the playoffs. Meanwhile, in the east, there are teams with losing records making the playoffs.

This is more of a statement about how bad the east is than about Lebron.

Exactly. And consistent with the quality of other teams has been the quality of his has been lesser than the quality of the others mentioned.

None of those early cleveland teams had the talent to beat a legit 60 win team. Sure they had great regular season records, but at this point I think its fairly obvious how differen reg season vs post season is. Rest, travel, injures, lack of preparation can allow for anomalous "great" reg seasons. But when intense scouting, focus, equal rest come into play things tend to change a lot.

Since miami/this year he has been pretty successful. Also, beating the thunder should count as a 50+ win team. They won 47 of 66 games. I think its safe to say they'd have won at least 3 of those last 16 in a non strike shortened season

where are those numbers coming from... pretty sure they aren't accurate.

2012-13 spurs won 50+ games
06-07 pistons also did

thats 8 right there. without even looking

OKC did also.

So did 2 of the 3 Pacers team he faced with Miami....also the Bulls from 2011 & 2015

Useless thread.

East was obviously stronger back when MJ played.....Lebron can't help the other east teams improve

7 still sound a bit low even if you're talking about series wins

In 10 postseasons he's squared off against 15 50-Win teams. That doesn't sound extremely low to me.

Jordan never won a championship, let alone got a team to the championship, with a team as bad as this Cav team is now without Love and getting nothing from gimpy Irving. In fact this might be the worst team that I can think of to make the finals. They literally right now have Lebron and then nothing other than replacement level players around him at this point.

If Lebron can will this team to a title this year, we are going to have to for the first time seriously consider (it's been done a million times but before this it has always been premature) whether or not Lebron is better than Jordan.

That said: I think the Warriors roll the Cav's. This year will be about Curry cementing himself as the best overall shooter in NBA history rather than Lebron entering the conversation for GOAT.

It is 7 series wins

And it is correct. Although, the 66 game season of 2011-2012 skewed it a bit.

Another thing here is that the 50 win line of demarcation makes this stat deceptive.

Player A faced 10 50-win teams.
Player B faced 20 50-win teams.
This makes you think that Player A had it twice as hard. In reality, a 50-win team is not twice as good as a 49 win team. Its such an incomplete picture and bad way to look at it, IMO.

I have no doubt that the stats will show that Jordan had tougher paths to the Finals year in and year out.... but I 'd be much more interested in seeing average season wins per opponent or something like that that tells the whole picture.
