Watched the latest Night at the Musuem movie with the family. Pretty lame movie overall, laughed maybe 2-3 times. 3/10.

Birdman. Very Strange film. Michael Keaton does a very good job playing a strange actor.

I came away feeling it was somewhat overrated. Best Picture of the Year? Meh.

Fury Road

Not as good as the hype, but a very capable addition to the franchise. Not as good as Mad Max or Road Warrior, but better than Thunderdome.

It was a Trailer Park Boys weekend here.

Don't Legalize It and Swearnet The Movie.

Lots of laughs..... Big laughs.

In the 1st one, Lahey is superb. (of course).

In the 2nd one Pat Roach (Randy) as Swearman is a complete riot.

We had a $5 MalWart movie night up at the condo over the weekend.
First, we watched "The Other Guys"...daughter's choice, wasn't too excited about it. It had some reasonable laughs for the first hour and then got kind of flat and strained as they seemed to struggle with how they were going to resolve the mess. 6/10, at least it kept my interest for most of the time. Didn't think that Marky Mark and Ferrell seemed very comfortable together.
I had picked "Ace Ventura" and hoped it would be as funny as "The Mask". Really didn't like it, mostly just Carrey doing his over the top thing but not having many good lines to deliver. 4/10 only because his female sidekick was a babe.

After an hour of watching this movie I realized it just wasn't going to deliver. The acting is weak and the storyline is weaker.

I saw this movie in the theater when it came out and had the same exact impression you did.
My buddy thought it was a really good movie, and is usually right about things, but wasn't on this one.
I have seen every planet of the apes movie ever made and this one just didn't deliver.
It was terrible.

Draft Day. 5/10. For this being a "Costner" movie...I didn't think he acted well in it at all. There wasn't any chemistry with any of the actors.

Forgot that I watched Star Trek 1 and 2 a few weeks ago. They were better than I remembered, and I even had good memories of 1 because I thought the Vger plotline was pretty cool as a kid. 1 didn't have much action and I think it was reviled for that at the time, but I enjoyed most of it a lot...thought the abrupt ending was really odd, though, they just took off for a test drive after the momentous event that had just occurred?
2 is much more of an action flick and was fun, although Ricardo Montalban, like Thumper, should have covered his chest up more.
7/10 for both.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2

I thought the first one was really funny, this one was pretty lame. They went for over the top crude humor, and missed. I did laugh a couple times.

Sorry to disappoint but the sequel, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, was not nearly as good as the original.
