Rory has just about every possible excuse for missing the cut at this event.
From his insane schedule to the fact that he won 2 of the 3 of that schedule before this event, to the fact this event was a completely different European course than the ones he was playing for 3 weeks.
But if Rory is really going to make a run at being one of golf's legends and his accomplishments have all ready put him on that path, there really is no excuse for him to allow his game to yo-yo down to a level where his misses a cut.
Playing without your A game is something all great golfers have to contend with but Rory has to play smart golf. Smart golf that keeps his game from ever falling below a certain level.
