Best thing to do is go to YouTube. Lots of builds on there. Just type in "Ugly Drum Smoker".
Buy a 55 gallon drum. Used probably $10. Make sure it contained food grade stuff in it, or you will have to burn it out.
the parts and thermometer all combined, you can build one for $50.
get a little fancy $100
go all out on shit you dont really need but looks cool$150-$200.

Never have used one but the principle is sound and people swear by them.

It looks interesting. I couldn't care less about looks. If it looked like Roseanne Barr and made great food I'd be happy. I don't have many tools yet so I'll have to see if it's doable.

Read your instruction manual. I have to turn my grill on and off in a particular order, If I don't I can't get the grill hot enough and I need to reset it.

its on, i see flames, i cook on it, just not getting red hot.........cant crack 450

Defective hood thermometer. I bought a oven therm an set it onv the grates and its 750+ while the hood shows 350. Reset the regulator again all good now

Just a faulty good temp, and resets on the regulator and it's now fantastic.....
