I heard on the radio two days ago DeShields had already made the team and was the announced opening day starter in CF (due to the dreaded Lefty-lefty match up). Martin will be our CF day-in-and-out.

Don't remember who said it, but it was on 105.3, and they quoted Bannister.

First I'm hearing any of that. As of this morning I read DeShields still was not officially on the roster.

Martin looked good in his ABs against a lefty today.

I swear I'm not making this up. And I wasn't drunk. But I told a buddy of mine this earlier today and he wanted to sign the papers to have me committed. :noidea:

Game Break: Feliz looked good for 3 outs. Don't know what the gun had to say.

Don't know which one of you is "Bennie," but EG gave you a complete non-answer towards your Prince Fielder power hitting question. (I know, I know, it's EG) It was good info about Fielder, but completely irrelevant to the question. Glad to hear Prince is looking good.

If there is managerial orientation toward platooning in CF I am going to explode my head on Opening Day in protest.

That's basically what was insinuated. Hey, if we're going to keep this guy, might as well run him out there and let him sink or swim.

It appears - to me anyway - our Rangers are going to take a look at "options" at several positions/pitchers for the immediate future.

Been meaning to ask you: What's your alliance to the Bucs about?

Just started rooting for them bc I felt sorry for them I guess, and then a couple years later they got Sapp and Brooks, and I just didn't abandon ship when things went south again
It's hard bc they are never on TV

The Rangers have 15 hits today, to account for their 9 runs (through 8).

Boy.....what an awful 9th inning, pitching wise. Fujikawa got roughed up, and we brought in Kaminska (?).

It was 9-7 Rangers, and now it's 12-9 Cubs with no outs.

Yes, that is classic Evan. If you follow up on a question like that he gets mad too. He actually mis-answered two questions I asked.

He did answer the question I asked about the possibility of trading Beltre should we be sellers and he did answer the one I asked about who would have the better numbers between Martinez and Detwiler at the break.

"If they are sellers at the deadline, I thin they'd HAVE to listen to offers for Beltre. Doesn't mean they have to trade him, but e's gonna be free at the end of 2016. You have Gallo at the minor leagues who appears to be close to being ready. If the club is out of it, they might as well add to their depth at the minor leagu level."

"Martinez. I'm just a Martinez fan. Think he knows his strengths and his weaknesses and knows how to pitch with them. Think he buys into Jeff Banister's theory of pitching inside. And he fields his position very well. Made this comp the other day: I think Martinez compares in some regards to Rick Helling. Tough, fearless competitor who will stay in the game long enough to pick up a win, even if it means allowing some runs along the way."

His job is to PR for Jaba the Hut. That's it. Let him get that right ... then he can go out a buy a glove.

According to the latest rankings by Keith Law, he has Gallo @ 11 (raw power incarnate he says), Mazara @ 31, and Alfaro comes in @ 35.
