Had my Galaxy S4 for about a year and a half.

I'm ready for a new phone but I don't want to get the S5 and have the S6 come out a month or 2 later.

I haven't heard any rumors about release dates yet. Any of you heard about when this is coming out?

I'd never get one as soon as it launches. Give it at least a month to weed out those bugs.

Pretty much guaranteed to be at carriers by June 1st. Zero chance it will be there by March 1st. It still has to be announced, released and then get to the carriers so they can put their bloat ware on it. I got my s4 from Verizon the day they launched it, which was after AT&T and Sprint. My 2 year contract ends in April sometime. So my guess would probably be right there in the middle, right around April 15th. Or in other words just about 2 months from the day you would buy an so.

I'm going to a Note next time anyways, which usually comes out October - November ish. So you could jump to a Note 4 right now, wait 2 ish months for an S6, or like me wait 9 months for note 5.

OP...I was in the exact same position...ironically with the same phone as you, but mine crashed and burned over the weekend...thus needed a replacement sooner vs later.

I went to the ATT store this past Sun looking for the S6 at it was debut at tradeshow in Spain the same day...they said they expect to get the phone in by the end of Mar...maybe a week sooner...it was suggested to me to pass on the S6 Edge, they still haven't really figured out a legit use for the screen wrapping around...I couldn't wait though...broke the droid rank and bought an phone an I6+

Never had an Apple phone, but so far...I'm please.

Seems like the S6 should be out by next month....If not then in May for sure.

They're following Apple in coming out with 2 versions of their phone. They have the S6 and the S6 Edge.

Have no idea which one I'm getting but I do know that I'm getting the phone in Gold.

The Galaxy Note Edge looks pretty interesting. Being able to toggle between apps on the side like that could be handy. It will probably take a couple of years before it's worth getting one though.

No more removable battery on the S6. I'm definitely not getting one. I'm pretty firmly entrenched in android now anyways, and wouldn't want to start all over with apple. But the biggest reason I originally chose Android was for the removable battery.

LOL...kind of apples and oranges though...the edge probably is more in line with a i6, but scale wise the Note edge is probably closer to the 6+.

Strictly a droid guy (not sure why) the 6+ has been fairly easy to migrate to...that said, I'm not the most savvy user in terms of really using all the bells and whistle any of these smartphones have.

I stand corrected on something too...I went back to have my contacts transferred and ATT said April...maybe mid month for the S6 & Edge

despite knowing that the S6 was eminent . .

I upgraded my S3 over the weekend to an S5. I figure it is plenty of upgrade, so I won't feel like I am missing out by not having the S6. In the meantime, Target had the S5 for $100 less than sprint, so I said fuggit and jumped at the chance to get the upgrade I had been looking for. So far, no complaints. I anticipate using this S5 now for the next 2+ years.

You can now pre-order your galaxy S6....prices are ridiculous.

Think I'm going to wait 2-3 months after it comes out

Doesn't your Gmail account save your contacts and transfer them automatically whenever you get a new device?

I can transfer my shit through AT&T, my samsung account, or the micro SD card on my old phone.

How you move your stuff depends on which phone you are moving from and possibly which carrier. There are always more than one option for doing it.

My only complaint about the S5 is that all of the stock apps on it secretly run in the background all of the time. I'm not talking about hitting the bottom left button and clicking close all. My Battery Doctor app will tell me I have 60+ background apps running even if it's just been asleep all day without any use. I probably only have 8-10 apps on it that didn't come with it anyways.

Which one should I get if I put a lot of music on my phone? Not really sure because I never had to get a phone by GB. Is 64 good enough or should I do 128?

Depends on how many songs, the quality, and what else you will have on the phone.

Figure somewhere between 200-400 songs per GB. However your phone will take up some of the listed space, so will your games and apps, and whatever pictures and video you might take.

The larger one will allow you to keep much more picutres/video without having to clean them off for more room. Either will allow you to have thousands of songs even in very high quality formats.

I've started using BLU phones. 1/3 as expensive and they do everything a Galaxy does. Plus, they don't come with all the bloatware.

If your looking to get a new phone, I would check to see if Marques Brown has reviewed it yet.
He does awesome reviews of all sorts of tech stuff.
